Re: Man Shot Dead, Wife Wounded, In South African Road Rage Incident
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim's wife allegedly retrieved a firearm from their vehicle. The suspect then drew his own licensed 9mm pistol and opened fire. The NPA’s decision to pause the case was influenced by evidence suggesting the suspect, G, 58, acted in self-defense against an unlawful attack. He was released from jail. Faisal R. (48), a Pakistani national, was a car dealer from Pretoria and father of young children. He was declared dead at the scene. He was the sole provider for more than 15 households in Pakistan. Every month, he sent money back home. He looked after orphan children and he gave to charity. His wife Tehseen Z. F, sustained gunshot wounds to her hand and shoulder. She remains hospitalized in serious condition. The couple's two young children, who witnessed the shooting from inside the car, are currently being cared for by relatives. Additionally, investigations revealed that the firearm used by the deceased was allegedly unlicensed or registered to a third party. |
