Murder. If there were so called "other bad characters" lurking about with firearms, then there is no reason to flee and be on the run. The victim seemed to be in more control. Maybe the knife was some weak attempt at showing he had balls. Then he thought about it and put down the knife. But, copper had already decided to end this feud his way. |

Nah, that was cold blooded murder. That guy with the knife was standing back with his hands in a non threatening posture, totally unarmed, and didn't move a muscle when the "cop" dropped the phone and charged the man, unloading his pistol. Rage killing.

It's not a plain case of murder when the guy purposely keeps his hands behind his back. The cop thinks he still has it and maybe he said something to the cop we couldn't hear. There are lots of variables going on here.  |

First off, if I was in that close with someone armed with a knife, I wouldn't take my eyes off them, turn my back on them, or take my pistol sights off them. That off-duty cop was an idiot for doing so. The Tueller Drill is why. Next, since Mr. Dumbass Cop wasn't keeping his eyes on Mr. Knifey McKnifeFace, he probably didn't see him drop the knife. So he shot because he thought his opponent was still armed. The net-net of it all is that it took two dumbasses to make this situation a complete clusterfuck.  |
