Man Shot Dead by Celebratory Gunfire During Wedding
Jalandhar, Punjab, India 45-year-old Paramjit Singh, who was the husband of a local village leader, died after being hit by a bullet during celebratory firing at a wedding ceremony. The video showed about a dozen men dancing and showering money at the wedding event when Singh walked past them. One of them, who appeared to have pulled the trigger in a rush before raising his pistol in the air, fired three shots. Singh was hit once and collapsed. Initially, both the police and Singh's wife claimed he had died of a heart attack, but a probe into his death is expected to gain momentum. The police have yet to take action against the man who opened fire, even though Punjab prohibits firing weapons during wedding celebrations. |
