Re: Man is Pretty Calm for Losing a Leg
Some of the phrases I could understand (there are a lot of voices in the background). Most are from the louder guy, the one who's filming (I guess) "Hey! Que? estás pidiendo por favor que te lleven? gil" (Hey! Are you asking for someone to please take you (to the hospital)?, jerk) "No sabés como te quedó la pierna, gil" (You don't know how nice is your leg now, jerk) Hard to translate, it's a common sarcastic expression. The guy says it many times. "Cuando se descuiden estos azules no sabés como te vamos a dar" (When the blues (cops) turns away you have no idea how hard we're going to hit you) (Someone in the background) "no lo van a levantar, lo van a sacar directamente en un cajón" (They're not going to pick him up, they're going to put him in a casket directly) "jodete, jodete, gil" (suck it up, suck it up, jerk) "espero que te lleven de acá al hospital de merlo o de moreno, sabés qué? ni el suero te van a dar, gil" (I hope they take you to the hospital in Merlo or Moreno, you know what? You're not even getting an IV) Ironic comment about the poor quality of the medical services in those cities (Merlo and Moreno) probably around the place it happened. This is west of Buenos Aires. "laucha de mierda" (shitty rat, rat is slang for thief) (a female voice in the background) "aflojá el palo para levantarte, salame" (loosen the stick to raise, you moron) Salame is salami, slang for a dim witted. And she's talking about the stick in the tourniquet, maybe it's the voice of the doctor who helped him. And here's the news bit (as usual translated for my non Spanish speaking friends here in DR), from Canal 26 (Channel 26) |
