I suspect the DA will offer them both plea deals for significantly lesser charges because getting a manslaughter conviction for what transpired in the video is highly unlikely, provided the defendants can prove that they did not provoke the victim into attacking. This is Texas, after all, where a grand jury no-billed a drug dealer who killed a deputy executing a no-knock search warrant. If I were the defendants I would reject any deal and take my chances with the jury. Except, you know, I am not developmentally disabled nor a slave to righteous indignation (cf. Homer Simpson: I'm a rageaholic! I'm hopelessly addicted to rageahol!), so I wouldn't have been in this situation. Also, if someone brandishes a gun in my presence, I will pursue the same strategy I would if I saw 2 Brazilian men on a scooter; the only evidence that I was ever in the area will be the billowing trail of dust I kick up in my wake, like Speedy Gonzalez. |

Personally I think the guy in the orange t-shirt was literally asking for it. He was provoking the fuck out of those guys, screaming and issuing multiple death threats. He was quite obviously the aggressor.

I don't know, I went to a football game in Austin in 2015 when Texas and my alma mater played for the first time ever, and I saw a whole lotta people doing a whole lotta fuckin around. I went to some guy's house and he had a picture of Trotsky on the wall. Literally. A framed portrait of Trotsky.
