When you land inproperly, you can literally kill yourself on impact, or be immobilized by the jump and drown, which dying would be more painful with flooding your lungs. There's a difference between a belly flop and pencil diving. If you want to try a "at home science experiment", fill a tub with water (or pool), punch the water with your fist downward as hard as you can, then proceed to use your entire arm to whack the water (flat, as hard as you can), then tell me what hurts more ![]() |

He was in free fall for barely two and a half seconds, that's survivable if you're trying.

I time it at 2.1 sec. That is 71 feet and an impact velocity of 46mph. The way he hit that water - hard to survive. If the impact didn't kill him, a KO followed by drowning would have. |
