Man and His Wife Found Electrocuted at Coffee Plantation
A man, Y.Q, 38, and his wife, H.T, 35, went to the family's coffee plantation to work this Saturday afternoon. Other people working in the fields discovered the bodies of the couple lying on the ground next to a ladder, with many body parts burned, suspected to be due to electric shock, so they called the authorities. At the scene, an iron ladder was found next to the bodies of the couple. According to worker the couple went to the field to remove a surveillance camera mounted on an iron pole about 10 meters high. A leader of the electricity company that arrived confirmed that this was an electrical accident. The accident occurred around 4:30 today. The initial cause was determined to be that the camera installation in the field did not ensure a safe distance from the 22kV power grid, leading to the unfortunate incident. Specifically, for 22kV medium voltage lines, the minimum safe distance is 1.5m in all cases, including when participating in traffic, installing equipment, constructing housing projects or other items. |

Actually, minimum approach distance (MAD) is typically 4' (1.2 M) in a non 3rd world country.
