On the night of 10th November 2019 in Valparaíso de Goiás (Brazil), José Ribamar Porfírio de Sousa was shot dead at a bar. José, who would have turned 41 years old next month, was shot 5 times.

There's 2 versions of why he was shot, that I've read. Which one is true, I don't know.

1. The gunman was the husband of the woman José was with. The woman had been cheating on her husband with José + was pregnant with his baby.

2. Less than a day later, the gunman, Elivelton Pereira, was arrested. He stated that he was drunk + had seen José "staring at him + making threating gestures." He stated that he did not know José nor the woman who he was with (apparently José's wife). It's also stated that the woman said that she didn't know the gunman.
