Years ago, in therapy I learned to ask myself (yes bc I never thought about this before), if whatever it is thats getting to me, will I even remember what it was about a week/months from now. Usually the answer is a no.

Not foolproof of course as people are still sick fucks who will murder you, but probably better to choose the less complicated path when it comes to handling situations such as this.
