Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
I looked into it yesterday, there's still no criminal charges filed. There was a custody hearing for the two boys that was dismissed in early January. I'm not sure why the widow thought that was going to go anywhere with the bio mom still around. The attorney general still has the case, but 2 judges have recused themselves so far. The widow filed 2 wrongful death civil suits for like $30m or $50m because apparently there were 3 businesses registered to the address. And the shooter has asked to get the cases combined and moved out of Lubbock County for obvious reasons. At this point I don't know if this is even going to go criminal, but I'm still periodically checking for updates. https://www.kcbd.com/2022/01/05/cour...-custody-case/ |

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
I think this is one of those cases where no one is in the right. Unnecessary to bring out a gun in a verbal argument, not smart to try to take a gun out of someone's hand who is pissed.

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
When you tell someone repeatedly to leave they need to go. These people couldn't handle coparenting without the courts being involved in the first place, the father should have continued to work with the courts to get his visitation but instead he took the law into his own hands by confronting the mother and co with hostility on their property and refusing to leave. When the land owner brandished his weapon the offender threatened to take it and use it and stepped into the man's space and while the owner was saying "I don't have your son" the father reached for the gun plain as day. "But he just wanted to see his child!" Being a parent doesn't give you special privileges. Fuck out of here with that. "You'd better use it motherfucker, cause if you don't I'll fucking take it from you and use it on you" - case and casket closed. |

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
It doesnt sound like you have had much firearm training. The dude with the gun had great control over his weapon. He kept his finger off the trigger and didn't point it at anyone until he decided to use it, he didn't let the other guy strong arm it from him and after he fired it appears he put the safety on. He was conservative in his shots and they all landed. Better arms control than most justified police shootings.

As someone who trains civi's, Police and Military, you are plain wrong. I think he was loosely justified in using deadly force, and luckily he was in Texas. But you NEVER let someone close within arms length while you are displaying a weapon, this video is a stone cold example of what NOT to do. P.S. I've personally been involved in several deadly force situations, I'm no arm chair commando... |
