Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
To the people defending this pussy piece of shit: did it ever occur to you that it was the unarmed man acting in self-defence?

Not defending anyone, but he was trespassing and texas law permits the guy to bring a gun from his home.

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
It'll happen, I've heard of a couple cases where the shooter was allowed to go home after giving a statement, only to get picked up on a later date. This caused a bit of a delay: So the case was passed to the AG. https://www.lubbockonline.com/story/...on/8765295002/ |

Stupid white trash. The taxpayers will be picking up the bill for his lack of ball and stupidity. He killed a man. If he gets away with it because of texas laws, that does not make it right. The older dude was an idiot that could have been dismissed with out anyone getting kill. |

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
Reading all the comments here...I'm thinking there were a lot of people in the wrong to begin with...Very few things, if any, were done correctly...Obviously, there was a misunderstanding regarding visitation time, location, and questions regarding the exchange of a child to the other parent. Verbal threats were made involving the police and judicial courts, so obviously this was an ongoing situation. Tempers were elevated due to all the hostility. A firearm is produced in a heated verbal battle and recorded on video which in essence is saying one side is wrong and doesn't have to back down because video will reveal the wrongdoings. Texas being a stand your ground state allows private property owners to deal with their own demise as long as it's in self defense or thought to be a threat to loss of life. Bad mouthing from everybody in this confrontation...A warning shot was fired as an attention getting act, but just escalated the event to a belligerent level in mere seconds...just so many wrongs in the video to judge in a short amount of time. I think, of course hindsight can provide us an alternative plan that was not reached, but the homeowner who retrieved the gun should have stood his ground INSIDE his home and if that threshold was crossed, would be legally entitled to defend himself. They should have stayed within the boundary of the interior of their home and locked the door and called the police. It turned into a pissing contest and everybody lost their cognitive reasoning abilities due to anger. Call the cops, lock yourself inside the home, defend yourself if the threshold is crossed, be civil...Unfortunately, the courts will decide on right and wrong, but the biggest tragedy is the child who lost a parent from the situation. It's almost impossible to determine who was right and wrong because both parties made some pretty bonehead decisions in the situation...I feel sorry for the kid...and nobody else...
