You know, a lot of people like to talk about how Documenting Reality is all about glorifying violence, etc....but I see it more as educational television for adults. If the people who lived in these kinds of buildings saw ALL of the people who fall to their deaths while trying to escape a fire, or who are charred alive because they have bars on their balcony, etc....maybe they would consider buying some rappelling equipment, or a bungee cord, or some kind of rope so that they could lower themselves safely to the ground in an emergency. Maybe they would consider moving someplace that DOESN'T have bars on the balconies .

Great point. When my wife and I got married, we started off in a 5th floor apartment. I had a rope stashed in the closet. I even went as far as knotting it every 3 feet for hand/foot leverage. She thought I was nuts but I slept better knowing we had a chance to get out if that was the only exit.

The window wasn’t even broken. He should have stayed on the balcony. In the caged one her house was wood I believe, that’s why it went up in flames so fast. This exterior here looks concrete. If DR taught me anything, it’s don’t panic. When you panic you basically earn your Darwin Award
