Maybe they were thinking the concept of Automatic Rifle. But that would not be case here. Im same I don’t understand concept of Assault Rifle. I’ve seen the aftermath of people using everything and anything under the sun to cause somebody’s demise.

I think you’re thinking of the term “Assault Weapon”, used by liberals and the media. Assault Rifle in this instance IS the right term, since it’s a select fire intermediate caliber rifle.

From what I've heard "assault rifle" is a term anti gun tards started using because they mistakenly thought the AR in AR15 stood for assault rifle. It's not a very good assault rifle though. It basically shoots rounds nearly the same diameter as a 22lr. Just a heavier jacketed round that travels 3 times faster. If I were to go do a military assault on a compound somewhere though, I certainly wouldn't want an AR15. Or an M4. I'll take an m240. Now that's an assault rifle. Though it's classed a machine gun. An AR15 seems like a big scary military gun to some people because they're not familiar with military guns. The American military can get away with using alot of AR15 style rifles, because we haven't fought a real war in a while. A war where the enemy wears armor, and travels in armored vehicles. And builds bunkers and fortified positions. And travels in packs of 5,000+. Instead we fight groups less than 100 guys in dresses and sandals. And hide among civilians. |
