Technically that is not an assault rifle, it is an AR-15 type rifle, a full auto M4 on the other hand is an assault rifle!  |

AR-15 is the patent design of the rifle originally designed by Eugene Stoner. An AR15 type weapon is any rifle or pistol that is built off the “AR15” design. The rights to the actual “AR15” name and design were sold to Colt hence why every other company or “AR” in existence uses another nomenclature or model name (i.e. Bushmaster’s XM15E2S, Anderson’s AM-15, RRA’s LAR-15,etc. Etc.) The U.S. military nomenclature of an AR-15 derived rifle changes upon its model design but they are usually select-fire (M16,M4,MK18). The “M4” is a carbine variant of an AR15 type rifle that is also available in Full Auto as the M4A1 and the M4A3. An “Assault Rifle” by definition must be select fire and fire an intermediary cartridge” The video shows what is clearly some kind of AR15 type rifle most likely in semi automatic. It’s characteristics are more akin to a full sized rifle variant sharing the outward visual profile of an M16 or original carry handle equipped AR15 rifles.

The AR-15 has no full auto and good luck trying to put a 3 round burst in a civilian AR-15 lower, even with good machining knowledge (a long, fun time of drilling and milling).
