Re: Man Crushed by Elevator in NY
I watched it a couple of times, frame by frame, and it actually looks like dumbshit tried to jump out because it was falling. The backpack guy stepped out but it dropped just as his back foot was leaving the ground, then dead guy panics and tries to jump out before it drops. That's why he got killed.

I hear ya! Call me chicken but I opted to climb the stairs to the WTC observatory instead of taking the freaking elevators.

Re: Man Crushed by Elevator in NY
For us on here, I think we’d do it to give off the impression that we aren’t used to seeing this kind of shit happen. But honestly, I’ve always wondered how I’d react in a situation like this. I’ve never been in a situation like this, and am curious as to how ‘desensitized’ I am. I kind of want to think that I’d be shocked or scared, but I genuinely feel like my reaction would be the shock of ‘holy shit, I’m seeing it happen in person’. My brother, not too long ago, was a first responder to a plane accident. The plane took off from a theme park, and after climbing to around 100 feet, the plane’s engine blew out and essentially went down for a hard, uncontrolled landing. The guy survived, but his legs naturally were the first part that hit the ground (I feel bad for imagining his plane being similar to a car from the Flinstones My brother and his wife both have been lifeguards, so they have their medical shit which makes them legally obligated to tend to him. But yeah, think if I saw something crazy happen, it would be surreal, but not traumatizing. My baptism by fire was my oldest brother showing me a Chechen beheading video of that Russian soldier when I was 9. Oh yeah, I found the article about the crash, which shows the plane. You can see how the damage to the plane would match what happened to the guy: https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/pilot-ser...park-1.1801967 |
