It's difficult to parse mixed sarcasm in text. The dead guy and his buddy were probably middle management. Looking at the angle of where the victim was standing, it's doubtful he even had a clear line of sight. In fact, being at the end of the the rack may have given the illusion of protection from what was going on down the aisle. But regardless, the operator is fully responsible for - USING A LIFT RATED HIGHLY ENOUGH TO PICK A LOAD THAT HEAVY - WAITING FOR THE AREA TO BE CLEAR BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO PICK A LOAD FROM THAT HEIGHT and clearly failed on both accounts. This is New Hire Forklift Training 101. The only way the guy deserved to die like that is if he was the boss who told the operator to pick the load after being warned, or if he knowingly failed to screen the operator for fucktardedness when he hired him. We hardly ever get all the facts for videos like this, so it's impossible to say for sure.
