It definitely did. You can definitely see him regain consciousness and try to sit up after like 2 minutes. He's definitely having a "really? like seriously?" moment.

The worst thing about so many of these burning alive videos is that the body can sustain a LOT of burns and still remain "alive" for a period of time, as long as the fire gets put out early enough that they're able to breathe fresh air.

And paradoxically/unfortunately, that's often around the time that the fire dissipates, either from the fire naturally dissipating, the person flailing around/moving away from the fire, and/or people putting it out.

So you basically have lots of scenarios where the person gets the worst of all of it, where they suffer burns about as badly as you could, but are also able to linger (probably in a state of semi-consciousness) for some time.

At the very least, he succumbed within the first couple of hours or so, and may not have been conscious for a lot of it.

The absolute most brutal version of it all of course is when someone goes through all the initial pain, the days of suffering, regaining consciousness, the mental pain of realizing what's going on, etc., and then they succumb to infection etc a few weeks later or whatever.
