Intervening in a domestic violence situation is a fool's errand. Saddest thing is that after he got killed there's a good chance the girlfriend and the killer went home and had hot makeup sex. Can't change people like that  |

If youre going to intervene you need to neutralize the threat completely. Throwing a couple punches and then backing off was extremely dumb. Especially when he was winning the fight and just needed to keep punching until the guy was unconscious.
