A military police officer shot and killed a young man in the early hours of this Sunday (5), during an approach in an occurrence for disturbing the peace in Vera, Mato Grosso.

According to the police, they were attending a disturbance of the peace breach when they approached one of the young men and asked for the document of the vehicle in which he was riding. He refused and tried to resist the approach, so the police arrested him for contempt.

After the arrest order, a fight began between the young man and the police officers. It is possible to see the moment when he gets up, takes the truncheon of one of the officers and tries to hit the police officer.

After the first shots, the young man, still standing, tries to continue, but is hit by more shots. According to the police, he died on the spot. One of the shots also hit the victim's brother, who was still hospitalized as of the publication of this report.

In a statement, the Military Police informed that an internal investigation was opened to investigate the case.
