Looks like in the states suicide by cop is a very easy suicide method which would take away some of the guilt and responsibility if they were to just do it themselves. Mentally ill: points kitchen knife "kill me!" Cop: ok

Because people are getting their wish to die by Suicide By Cop and the cops that must make the “him or me” choice are definitely not positively affected by the event. And, if there were more less than lethal means, it’s likely that there would be fewer deaths caused by the police that need to reach for their weapons instead of using other forms of deescalation.
