Man Armed with a Knife Shot and Killed by Seattle Cop
A man armed with a knife was shot and killed by police at the Seattle Waterfront Tuesday night. The shooting happened at Alaskan Way and Seneca Street near Pier 55. According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), Port of Seattle police contacted SPD around 9:20 p.m. about “a man in crisis” who was armed with a knife who had reportedly cut himself. When two SPD officers arrived, the man ran down Alaskan Way with the knife. Officers approached the man and attempted to use a less-lethal tool to stop him, but the device was ineffective, according to an SPD spokesperson. The man then moved toward the officers, and they shot him. First responders performed life-saving measures on the man, but he was pronounced dead. The officers involved in the shooting were placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation, which is standard SPD policy. |

Why do cops need fucking non lethal rounds? If a perpetrator has a lethal weapon then cops should be equipped at least equally if not more... another criminal bites the dust |

Because even though they're wrong, crazy youth like Antifa weaponize these event for their propaganda. Having efficient non-lethal weapon, would drastically cut this opportunity for them.

It would also remove the lethal force deterrent. I mean no disrespect to your views on this, they are valid but what would happen next ... we start sending water bombs and catapults to troops overseas. Follow the law and problem solved, charge a cop with a knife you need lighting up! |

lol. the expression of the cop telling the guy he needs to stop was pretty funny as he was preparing his machine gun to fire. the perp begging the office to kill him was just sad. |

They could have used a tazer or rubber bullet before lethal rounds. Seriously. Fucking guy was far enough away. Alot of these cops are pussys and rather take your life quick or some just been watching to many western movies and get off lighting someone up. Pathetic.

It may seem he was far enough away to engage him with less-lethal force. Most of the bodycams record in wide-angle, dudes probably way closer than it appears, and correct me if I'm wrong but I uderstand the 21ft rule was extended some time back.
