Re: Man Alive Stuck in Truck Following Accident
It doesn't work like that. Keeping a person conscious simply makes it easier to monitor their condition, as an unconscious person can't tell you if they're experiencing any changes in things like pain level, body temperature, blurred vision, etc. Shock is simply the term for blood pressure dropping to dangerous levels. Whether or not a person is going to experience shock is up to the severity of their trauma, not their level of willful consciousness. Responders are supposed to do their best to keep a trauma victim as awake and alert as possible because if the victim loses consciousness despite such efforts, then you'll know that their condition has worsened. |

Re: Man Alive Stuck in Truck Following Accident
Well, according to the cheerleading philosopher there, it seems that god is definitely with our hapless truck driver. God, in this case seems to be a bit of a dick. Also, laughed my ass off when the victim said his cell phone was; "Around here somewhere".

I haven't seen this one before so I dont mind the bump. Getting a first hand look into how brain damage can kill short term memory like that was fascinating. The repeated questions seems like it could've been a combination of brain damage and shock. Also, the guy recording did an excellent job at keeping the dialogue going. |

Re: Man Alive Stuck in Truck Following Accident
I came here because my husband was killed in a single car rollover accident a week ago. He was on his way home. The funeral director strongly recommended I not view the body and that I cremate him right away. To respect his dignity, I didn't view it but I have a call in to the first responder on-scene to get the details. My husband would want me to know what he went thru - he was still alive when they rolled up on the crash site. I know his face was destroyed. I can't imagine the pain he was in...
