Malaysian Man Was Trampled to Death by Wild Elephants
Gua Musang, Kelantan, Malaysia A supervisor was killed after being trampled by a herd of wild elephants in a logging area last Wednesday night. A group of logging workers who were staying in a shared house in the area had earlier noticed a strong smell of elephants and heard loud noises outside before the herd attacked them. All the workers ran into the forest to save themselves, but one of them - 43-year-old Saidi J. - failed to escape in time. He survived, but both his legs were broken. Saidi was brought to the shared house, only for one of the elephants - believed to be the herd leader - to return. Saidi was left behind as the others fled. After the situation calmed down, the group returned to the shared house and found that Saidi was no longer there. A search nearby found Saidi lifeless on the access road with severe injuries. The Department of Wildlife and National Parks is now working to track and control the movement of the elephant herd in the logging area. |

Read between the lines. Unconfirmed reports indicate Saidi was drinking fermented bamboo broth and berating the herd, so his workers get a proper night's sleep. Saying things like, "Shut the fuck up and take a goddamned bath for Christ sake you smelly motherless Pachs." At some point during the evening, the herd leader apparently took it personal. |
