Nowadays is too easy to surf anonymously through internet, TOR is one of the methods, however there are WIFI connections everywhere and hacking those connections is extremelly easy, and also he can surf behind some proxies or all these methods together.

IMO he will try to move to any asian country where his face is less known (maybe he already did it), if he tries to make his life in Europe, he is already very famous and it would be too risky for him that somebody can identify him and get caught.

And also change your face with surgery & buy a new identity.

Nowaydays all of this is possible, so... if he is as smart as he claims to be, this is what I think he would do.
