Re: Lower Half of a Man Found Washed Upon a Beach
The Central Bangka Police, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, confirmed that the body parts of a man found by residents on Batu Beriga Beach, Lubuk Besar District on Monday (1/9) were identified as Deri Abdul Haris (26), a crew member of the KM Alpha Jaya 3 which reportedly drowned in the Java Sea on August 4 2025. The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Bangka Police through the Head of Public Relations, IPTU Erwin Syahri in Koba, Wednesday (3/9), said that the victim's identity was known and currently the body was in the process of being sent to the family for burial. "Currently, the bodies have been evacuated and handled according to procedures, involving the Inafis team, BNPB, and in coordination with Basarnas," he said. The body was first found by a resident named Laoce (30) while floating on the beach at around 12.30 WIB. The body parts were then evacuated by residents together with a joint team and brought to land for examination by the Inafis Unit of the Central Bangka Police Criminal Investigation Unit in collaboration with the local BNPB. The victim's identity was discovered after the family recognized the clothing and evidence found at the scene. Confirmation was also obtained through a direct check of the victim's ATM card at a bank in Bandung, West Java. On August 7, 2025 the Rigid Buoyancy Boat or RBB SAR Office Bandung moved to carry out the second day of search efforts for 4 crew members of KM Alpha Jaya 3 who were previously reported missing after their ship capsized in Java Sea waters. It is planned that if the victims are found, they will be evacuated to Karangsong Indramayu Port by being picked up by the LCR and the Indramayu Police Satpolair Patrol Ship. The victims who are still being searched for include Darmono (51), Deri Abdul Haris (27), Faizal Hendra (27) and Suharyanto (37). |
