At a guess i would say he was basically dead just b4 he started cutting, those hefty impacts on the back of the neck probaly killed him first??

No..probably shattered his spine leaving him paralyzed to make him suffer more

i've noticed the zetas are very creative when it comes to removing a head from a body. some crazy men there.

I imagine they do a lot of beheadings and they probably get boring after awhile...have to shake things up a bit, you know?

Don't see where the beheading was really needed. He was pretty much dead after those blows from that branch.

Beheading is probably some symbolic shite
