Re: Look Close.
I have imagined what it must have been like to be trapped above the impact zone in the trade center almost every day since it happened. It is a very strange obsession, but I experience it before I go to sleep.

Re: Look Close.
I think they did. Coming up from the lower levels, you could feel the building groan and shudder. They knew an explosion had taken place, and some assumed it was a bomb. Knowing that Ramzi Youseff had failed to bring it down in 1993, I think they had all sorts of reasons to think it would come down. Some people in 911 calls told the operator that the floors were falling in, and they were being burned just standing on the floor. Some elected to climb on furniture, and when that was no longer a viable option, they jumped. |

Re: Look Close.
I'd say a few saw the South Tower collapse from the North Tower as well, people still continued to jump right til the time it collapsed as well. They probably figured they'd hurry and get it over with. I'd say any hope they had of resue practically vanished after the first collapse.
