honestly we need more suicide forest videos. this was pretty cool. he should give up youtube since his channel is probably fucked now (or maybe not, his name is put on the map for those of US who never fucking heard of him). he should just keep making videos for DR.

I agree and DR members are no different. We like to believe we’ve become desensitized by watching death videos all day everyday but until you witness first hand someone dying/agonizing in pain no amount of gore can numb you.

This is kinda what often happens to me, I study criminology and have had to do presentations/speeches in front of the class, and had bad feedback because i would be talking about morbid shit but smiling and giggling as i read stuff out, not because i thought the content was hillarious but because i just do it when im nervous!

He has a very young fan base too who are easily influenced. I know parents need to take more responsibility in what their children watch, but at the same time YouTube dubbed this guy and his crappy brother as family friendly, and then he pulls this sort of content. And I fail to see the point of having a trigger warning about suicide in the video when the thumbnail has a guy just hanging? Isn't the damage done at that point for some? And I don't know many children who are well equipt to handle this kind of subject matter, seeing the video of that boy breaking down over it was heartbreaking.

His fan base has stuck by him through this, some in some really disturbing ways ("the dead guy should be thankful he was in a LP video I'd have done the same just for the chance" maverick vomit catch phrases etc. etc.) So it's not wrecked his career exactly, but it probably would have affected some avenues.

Its no joke and we see lots of that suicide stuff on here.. 1 of 3 vets that have done combat deployments comes home with PTSD and kills himself/herself... Very sad, but true statistic... I agree with you. Also, I may have came off condescending as all hell with my previous comment.

What I mean to convey, is that I get a really insincere vibe from this guy. Its as if he's only saying some of the things that he says because he feels like he has to (for the viewership). The group as a whole almost seem like they are, real low key, trying to conceal the fact that they're glad to have stumbled across this tragedy for the sake of popularity on the internet.

Also he just plain rubs me wrong.

With that said, I think people make a good point about the 'shock' factor. I'm not 100% sure on how I would react to that situation.

But I do think you are right. As long as he gets the word out to a fanbase that takes him seriously and is able to offer even a modicum of awareness, then its not as bad as i make it out to be.
