It depends on how you look at it. People on welfare are "well cared for" in that they don't have to work for their next meal. Now these lions don't have to hunt down and kill prey for dinner, and when they get old they won't starve because they can't catch them anymore. Is a gilded cage really worse than being out there on your own? Depends on who is answering the question, doesn't it?
