Lions Maul Zoo Guard Who Enters Their Cage
On 17Dec24, a guard at a private Uzbeki zoo entered a lion cage to shoot a selfie video to impress his girlfriend. There were three male lions in the cage. The lions ended up mauling him to death. This is his selfie video footage. The recording stops shortly after one or more lions drop him and he starts screaming. About 2 hours after the the attack, zoo workers discovered his faceless remains and tranquilized two lions to recover the body. One of the lions reportedly died during the body recovery effort.

The three pics of the worried zoo guard are from when he momentarily turned the camera on himself as the lions were in close proximity and eying him up for lunch.

In my experience, that's about as good as it gets for first-person mauling vids. The biggest obstacle is the cameramen don't put enough planning into continuing quality audio-video footage once they die.

Seriously though, it did get quite monotonous when he said "Simba" for the two hundredth time. I gather that intense repetition was a stress reaction.
