I don’t know much about explosives and explosions, but it seemed like a small blast but an awful lot of carnage. Maybe the type of explosive? Maybe the shrapnel? It’s terrifying how a small bomb fitting in a little bag can cause so much harm.

Looks to me like 2 separate blasts separated by a split second: #1 is red blast signature below. I think it was the stuff sitting on the ground (pointed out by v1r) that exploded. It could send hurt 180 degrees to left of concrete planter.  #2 is yellow blast signature fringed in red below. That black bag exploded, sitting up on top of the planter, so it could send hurt in a 360 degree radius.  If you run through the footage in slo-mo or stop action, you can see they were two separate explosions. · |
