Just did some quick research.

The kid was 16 years old. His family says he suffered from ADHD and from behavioral problems. His brothers say the soldiers provoked him and had beat him before. His mom says they should have shot him in the foot instead of killing him.

Autopsy reveals he was shot once. He was dead by the time he arrived at the hospital. He had legal drugs in his system, I assume related to his ADHD. His body had no other injuries.

The military claims they fired at the ground in his direction and that the bullet ricocheted off the ground. They claim he jumped the barrier and entered the base armed with a machete, which can be verified with the video.
