Re: Justin Mohn Video: Man Beheads Federal Employee Father, Posts to Youtube
State interests are far more worrisome than corporate ones. The former has the monopoly of force and regularly pressures the latter to do their bidding (Snowden revelations, amongst many other things). High levels of distrust to both should be primary but the state is the foremost threat. The threat they constantly pose is always underestimated. I agree with your post, all the same. The Uniparty idea exists and is real, in the very least insomuch as the government won't substantively put itself out of a job. If they did then we'd realize we don't need them as much so they jockey back and forth, occasionally offering partisan or even "bipartisan" concessions, just so they can maintain their overall levels of political inertia. They're very good at being just "useful" enough especially during times of domestic/international tension and woes but far more negligent and incompetent (Maui fires, Katrina, Flint, the many train derailments, etc.) at best. The more we focus on partisanship rather than them (and fixing our own issues locally as a rule), the longer they get to focus on maintaining and expanding their power and position and we fall for it more often than not. Naturally, corporatism helps to keep us from said focus on local remedies and Uncle Ted touched on this many years ago. |
