From a quick googling, nothing indicates it would burn a hole in the stomach, main cause of death from it seems to be hypoxia. Basically suffocated despite the lungs going their thing as oxygen was blocked from being absorbed.

Was wearing a Sonichew amulet so he was doomed from the get.

My initial assumption was blood as well...however, you'll notice that he was consuming what appears to be red wine (at least twice you'll see him reach for and drink from the bottle and he references he need for liquid courage at least once in the 1st video)

That would be my best guess.
