Was pre-empting the (as I presumed, wrongly) inevitable American anti-Muslim rant ... maybe my post stopped them. I hope it made at least one person think before posting - no child deserves that kind of injury, whether inflicted by his own people or the American war machine. But apologies to any American offended by my post. And before some arsehole jumps in, no, I'm neither a Muslim, nor a supporter of Islam.  |

I once did anesthesia on a person that had their jaw blown off with shotgun. They reconstructed her jaw out of titanium bars and some hip bone grafts. It looked like SHIT after 20 operations and I think they ended up killing themselves. In a 3rd world country, this kid has NO HOPE or surviving this injury. He's going to DIE. |

Tell them how to look after that kind of injury when the following are REALITY to them. 1: No hospitals 2: No proper medical care and medicine available 3: Lack of doctors and nurses Oh wait, thats what happens when you surround a city and lay siege to it. I guarantee that if you saw that injury personally not only would you shit your pants you would try and hide your useless self in some sewer hoping to avoid the same fate. You are on the internet and you're still ignorant about whats happening in Syria or in any warzone. How pathetic.  |

Actually I think he had a good of surviving.I had a friend who had a similar injury after a failed suicide attempt with a shotgun and they were actually able to reconstruct a usable jaw for him.Whether this poor kid got that level of care is doubtful but he is in a hospital .
