Japan - Hiker Livestreams Fall To Death From Mt Fuji
Happened in 2019. The video, titled "Let's Go to Snowy Mt. Fuji," shows a man who identifies himself as TEDZU panting. "I'm rushing to the peak," he says. The man complains repeatedly about his cold fingers. "My fingers are killing me. But I have to operate my smartphone. I should have brought a hot pack,". "Oh, this place is slippery, getting dangerous," the man says. "Am I on the right track? So much of the route is covered with snow," he says as he climbs upward. "I'm trying to walk by the rocks, yes, rocks. It's a steep downhill." "I'm slipping" the man shouts, as he then appears to fall. The body was found at an altitude of around 3,000 meters (9,800 feet). Haruta said it was too early to say if the person who died was in fact the live-streamer. About Mount Fuji during off season : The winds at the top of Fuji are likely to be well over 100 kilometers per hour. The slopes are covered in snow, much of which hardens to ice, turning Fuji into an extended skating rink with an average gradient of 27 percent. In a blog post by the mountaineer Chris White, he concludes, “If you do slip (on Fuji), you’ll have at most one chance to self arrest, and if you miss that, then you’re probably taking a highly injurious or fatal one-way trip down the mountain.”

Damn! If the camera was found on the body then it's obvious it's the livestreamer lol |

worst part of breaking up with a japanese person is you have to drop the bomb twice before they get the message.

Re: Japan - Hiker Livestreams Fall To Death From Mt Fuji
It's too bad that happened but his attention should have been 100% on his situation and not on making a video of it. Assuming he was using his phone, he should have worn a GoPro or something to free up his hands to maybe drive a spike into the ice to stop his fall. I don't really know because I don't do that kind of shit because I just don't get the thrill of mountain climbing or hiking on icy terrain.
