I think the term "airbase" is a pretty broad definition. Looks like all of those planes are in various states of disrepair and pretty much inoperable. Wonder why the Assad troops were even stationed at, much less defending such a shithole? |

Looks like they captured a bunch of ancient , inoperable Mig 21s. Not much of a victory if you ask me.

True I think they get their toys from the West and true I think this is a pretty tame video when it comes to being graphic, but it still shows death and more interesting it shows that the Syrian Rebels are obtaining new modern weapons and the Syrian War wont end soon. I take no side.......

These SU-24 are not capable for operational use. Probably was there for spare parts for others or they have malfunctions problems and the technicians had not the proper equipment for the necessary repairs. Syria have 22 SU-24. 20 Su-24MKs from the Soviet Union, 1 Su-24MK and 1 Su-24MR from Libya 20 were in service in January 2013.All the Su-24MKs have been upgraded, between 2009 and 2013.

insider info? How do you know these things? I appreciate your comment, and i am shocked at how few planes they have, but how do you know? The internet? And if so can i look up this info on other countrys? Im curious to how many planes saudis have and Isreal, africa, etc. Thanks in advance!  |

Yes they are few but I spoke only about the few SU-24 in the video but the most of the planes in the video were MIG 23. Syria had about 136 of them 80 of them are MIG 23MLD (With improve manoeuvrability, especially during high angles of attack.The pitot boom was equipped with vortex generators, and the wing's notched leading edge roots were 'saw-toothed' to act as vortex generators as well improving stability . The flight-control system was modified to improve handling and safety in high-angles of attack manoeuvres.). None of them in the video are MLD.
