Yes I was confused at first. The reference article in the original post didn't match the Daily Mail link later on in this thread. They indeed appear to be two separate stabbings. In fact it seems like the guy that got stabbed not only survived, but is trying to get out on bail? Not the same guy. The guy in your article is 33 years old, the guy stabbed in the video is 26 years old. That prison is notorious for violence so not uncommon to have multiple stabbing incidents there.

About ten years ago i had my neck slashed with a knife. I’m not sure i bleed as much as this guy, but close. I was sure i was gonna die but they just stitched me up, so it’s possible to survive injuries like that.
