Indian Worker Fatally Buried in Mud and Soil Whilst Doing Pipeline Repairs
Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India A labourer was buried under a mound of soil whilst in a trench, attempting to repair a leak in a sewer pipeline. A JCB machine was subsequently used to remove the soil and extricate the labourer, but he had already succumbed to asphyxiation. The family of the labourer has been promised 5 lakh rupees (around $5,300) in compensation. |
