Indian Schoolgirl Killed When Electricity Pole Falls on Her
Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, India A teenage girl, Ragini, was killed when a dilapidated electricity pole fell on her whilst she was walking. A truck (of the type seen in the second image) had arrived at a nearby village store to deliver cattle feed, when an overhead power cable got snagged on the truck's metal frame. The tension on the wire was so intense that the dilapidated utility pole tilted towards the road and snapped, falling on Ragini's head. Fearing electrocution, witnesses initially kept their distance, before two individuals used a bamboo pole to lift the fallen structure, while another pulled Ragini's body away from the pole. By then, however, it was too late. |

Duck and cover!!?!!   All she needed to do was look up at the pole and take one sidestep to her left and she wouldn’t be lying there dead.  |
