Re: Indian Man Killed After Explosion at Pharmaceutical Factory
The plant manufactures items like anti-fungal tablets, involving volatile chemicals that require strict safety protocols like temperature control, ventilation and grounding. Fluconazole or itraconazole powder is the main active chemical. During synthesis/formulation, volatile organic solvents like ethanol, methanol or chloroform or water may be used. Reactors handle mixing, heating or reactions under controlled conditions (temps/pressure) to avoid explosions from volatile/flammable chemicals.
