Indian Elephant Kills Mahout After Ceremony at Mosque
Palakkad, Kerala, India An elephant went on a rampage at a mosque, killing its mahout and injuring another person. The incident unfolded after a ceremony on Thursday around 11.45 pm. According to eyewitnesses, the elephant suddenly attacked his mahout, identified as 50-year-old Kunjumon I., when they were returning from the ‘Gaja Sangam’ ceremony held to commemorate the saints laid to rest at the local mosque. The elephant suddenly attacked and trampled the mahout in the middle of the road. There were three people sitting on the elephant at the time of the incident. One of them jumped onto a nearby autorickshaw and escaped. Two people fell under the elephant's feet but escaped as they got up and ran away. The elephant also damaged several vehicles parked on the roadside. Eyewitnesses said that more than ten bikes, five autorickshaws and other vehicles were destroyed. The animal was eventually subdued and moved from the location. |

Elephants are clever as fuck, they definitely consciously decide to take revenge, we've seen this before. That's a cold-hearted and sustained deliberate killing, brutal.

That elephant was tired of the lifetime of abuse and was at its limit... Im sure the mahout was nice and gentle the whole time under his care |

When are humans (Indians especially) going to stop trying to “train” these animals and leave them the heck alone? Sheesh!

Poor creature. You an't get mad at the large animal, just the monkeys riding and dancing around it.

If you ever saw the way elephants are ‘broken’ to remove their free will you’d understand why they occasionally lose the plot and go wild. Chained and roped in agony for days, beaten mercilessly, to break their spirits totally.

I, too, would want to rampage if I were made to wear that ridiculous costume.
