Looks like people in my country casually mix fun , adventure , transport needs, safety ,danger , traffic rules with a bit of alcohol and Bollywood heroism and the result we see are the Casual deaths on Indian road published in the social media everyday. It might surprise people but bike is a mode of commute for a majority of people in India who represent lower middle class or poor. Any strict action taken on bike safety will be seen as a political backslash because it will affect the majority of voters and govt dont want to upset the majority. On the contrary the Cars safety and emission standards people are embracing and there is less resistance as Car owners are getting aware of safety needs specially urban population.
