Factoid: The city's name Doddaballapura comes from the Kannada word "dodda" which means "big." The city's name may have originated from the Hoysala name Ballala, which was later corrupted to Ballapura. It may also have come from the omen of a cow dropping a "balla" of milk over an anthill. Yeah, if I lived in a Big Anthill of cow droppings I'd kill myself too. |
