Take a breath, watch the videos again - there were already people apparently protesting and yelling at the federal agents doing their jobs (how the left and the right use these people, including the protesters is another story). There are no local law enforcement looking after local public safety b/c MN has chosen not to do that (like other sanctuary states). This is a tragedy. This should not have happened. Do you know proper police monitoring? You document and avoid getting involved. It looks to me like those people in MN were already very involved beyond monitoring the agents. Was the person driving her car part of the protest or an innocent bystander simply trying to leave her parking space? Here's the thing about this bullshit - the dogmatic on the left and right get people killed. I'm as mad at the protesters as I am at the agents. 59 ICE shootings since 2015. Who was president in 2015? It doesn't matter b/c all of this is politics of the worst sort.

I mean, what's the point exactly of having ICE agents just standing outside of random areas? Are they just hoping that some Mexican comes walking down the street, then they will tackle them and hope he's here illegally? To me, it doesn't really seem like there is a plan. It seems like they're here to intimidate. They're unhinged. They wear full masks and come jumping out of unmarked vans and point guns at civilians. How is this even allowed? There is no justification for this. They have no information on illegal immigrants and just stand around.

Here's an idea: Instead of having them stand around uselessly, how about you have police go out to residences of known illegal-immigrants (if they have info on them) and have the police transfer the illegal-immigrant to ICE, then have them brought back to their origin country? No harm. No agents in big cities in the street to intimidate. No death.

FWIW, the potential legal case against the ICE agent who fired the shots rides on whether he felt in fear for his life and took reasonable force to stop the threat. Unless there's clear evidence the shooting was premeditated such as a verbal or written statement I doubt they'll pursue a charge albeit maybe for a political statement.

There's plenty of blame to go around. Several news articles state the shooting victim was impeding traffic, potentially in protest or to hinder ICE. From the video it looks like at the time of impact, 3 or more officers surrounded her vehicle to when one tries to unlock her door to either detain or force her to turn off the engine. The lady panics and starts to accelerate while an ICE agent was in front of her driver side headlamp. She isn't trying to run over the agent because she's cutting the wheel away from him as he fires from a foot away.

Does she deserve to be killed for a spur the moment fight or flight reaction? No. Should she have put herself in that situation? Also No. Fight those battle in court and not on the streets FFS.

She didn't deserve to die. And I only came her to see if the full video was available b/c from the news media with no sound it looks like the traffic is congested b/c of the agents' vehicles and the red suv with the victim was determining if it was okay to emerge from an intersection. What I found with the audio was an already hostile setting with no local law enforcement and the suv emerging from a parked space. I raised the point about proper police monitoring - you observe, you don't get involved, you document. Right or wrong that was an escalating situation for law enforcement. I'm not defending them and I'm as angry at the agents for not trying harder to restrain themselves as I am at the virtue signaling yelping idiots that helped create an atmosphere that got that woman killed. Umm ICE IS LAW ENFORCEMENT! Law enforcement has the ability and authority to order you out of your vehicle. There is plenty of case law and supreme courts rulings on this.
Now, was he in danger of being hurt? That is the question. He was ran over back in the summer where he did sustain injuries and was hospitalized. That will be the argument of why he feared for his life.
Bottom line is:
Homeland security and law enforcement need to carry out their duties. These include arresting and detaining individuals suspected of being on the country illegally. No one should be interfering in these activities. Period. Your feelings DO NOT matter!

Pennsylvania v. Mimms and Maryland v. Wilson, federal agents can order drivers and passengers out of a vehicle during a lawful traffic stop as an officer-safety measure under the Fourth Amendment. This was definitely officer safety since she had been following around ICE agents!
The question is not whether the woman intended harm! The question is whether a reasonable officer could perceive a threat of serious bodily injury. Remember there is a “totally of circumstances” which the courts allow officers to consider.

So stop FOLLOWING FEDERAL AGENTS trying to hinder them in their duties. It is unlawful.
