Re: Hungary: 3rd Party Security Guy/boxing Coach Stabbed to Death in Bar Fight
Even if the baboon had it coming or not, the professional fighting skills idiot should never used his skills in a none live treating situation. Personally, would never do that. Most often, I avoid such contacts. I have learned that "things" can drastically change even when properly trained and armed. |

Are you blind? He sucker punched him in the face first. He totally attacked the guy with the knife and guy with knife responded.

Absolutely self defence. The boxer sucker punched him, and then was leaning over him before he got stabbed. Then after he first got stabbed he decided to throw MORE punches at tge guy with the knife instead of retreating to get medical help. If you are being attacked by a professional fighter your life is definitely at risk. You stand no chance without a weapon. This fighter punched him for no reason at all.

Re: Hungary: 3rd Party Security Guy/boxing Coach Stabbed to Death in Bar Fight
I should have been more clear in my original post. I am not saying he wasn’t attacked first. He most definitely was. But even with a sucker punch, self defense isn’t the same as retaliating. The guy lays there and is no longer being attacked nor is the other guy focusing his attention on him. As a more extreme example, if you get sucker punched in a bar, you fall down, and the other guy walks outside, you getting up and following him to punch him is not self defense. It is also assault. The law doesn’t allow retaliation. Now, do I understand this would be a natural response of someone or perhaps even morally justified, yes. But it’s still not self defense. Of course this is a much closer call, but it appears the guy is no longer on the offensive. Plus, you’re overlooking the fact that a knife is an elevation of the level of force and would potentially be viewed as excessive. These issues aren’t as clear cut as you make them seem under the laws of many jurisdictions. PS: I am a 15 year attorney who has prosecuted and done criminal defense work. Not saying that makes my opinion better, but I have experienced plenty of self-defense cases

I’ve been involved in something similar and I can say without a doubt that this is true and this is accurate. Believe me, I’m voting self-defense in the poll, but this poor guy who got sucker punched will end up with a formal charge and/or jail time.

IMO white shirt should have just taken the beating instead of bringing in the knife. You can just assume every random puncher is a killer

Why are you assuming that a pocket knife is an elevation over a tactical glove? Both of them are deadly weapons.
