Yeah its like that in a lot of 3rd world Latin countries. Unlike here in the USA, cops down there don't bother with first aid typically and even the ambulance won't help much if it looks like you're not going to be able to pay your hospital bills. I remember down in Central America, I was a passenger in a car and saw cops directing people around a scooter accident. I looked and the scooter rider was rolling around in agony in the gutter with his leg bone sticking out of his leg while cops focused on the traffic directing. Ambulance was probably stuck in traffic if it was even on the way. smh   |
