The Horrible Ferry Crash in Zimbabwe Resulted in Many Deaths
The ferry accident that occurred on Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, resulted in the deaths of at least 72 people. The Zimbabwean government has officially declared a national state of emergency following the deadly accident. The ferry, owned by the Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (RIDA), capsized on Lake Kariba due to strong waves and bad weather. The vessel was traveling from the Kariba Urban port to the Chalala fishing village. Reports indicate that the ferry was carrying approximately 153 passengers. This number far exceeded the official capacity of the vessel, which was only authorized to carry 90 passengers and 5 crew members. |

The water looks choppy. The boat looks packed way over capacity, and not balanced. Greedy SOB’s overselling tickets for the love of money, money, money, money…

Re: The Horrible Ferry Crash in Zimbabwe Resulted in Many Deaths
When the boat capsized, most of the people scrambled to get the life jackets but most of them did not even know how to use them. Survivors described a chaotic scramble where people grabbed the life jackets but drowned anyway because they could not fasten them before the boat capsized. According to survivor accounts, a heated argument broke out 30 minutes after departure when water began seeping into the vessel. The captain ignored the passengers' pleas and told them to be quiet, believing he could control the situation or reach the destination safely. The captain continued sailing directly into heavy waves and strong winds, which quickly overwhelmed the overloaded ferry. Frequent travelers on the Rida-operated ferry claimed that arrogance was deeply embedded in the harbor's culture. Multiple passengers reported that Patsikadova and the ticketing crew were historically known to be rude, arrogant, and full of 'I know, routinely brushing off complaints. Survivors and locals alleged that the captain had a history of dismissing warnings about powerful waves, bad weather, and unstable lake conditions. He reportedly preferred to push through hazardous conditions to finish voyages rather than delay or cancel them. Prior passengers noted that overloading and chaotic ticketing systems were persistent problems under his watch. Weeks before the disaster, Rida even issued internal insurance warnings regarding their failure to record exact passenger figures, a systematic flaw Patsikadova routinely sailed with. |

Holy cow Kellyhund, you just blew EVERY Documenting Reality contributor out of the water with that post and background story. Self-professed Christianity is no excuse for lack of education, stupidity and arrogance. Your giant picture of the cretin with a flaming Christian cross and their "belief" in the boot fuhrer's divine guidance is more disturbing then Gimlet's drop tower Sasquatch or the Chinese foundry worker running around covered in glowing metal.
