At least five people have died in an accident in Honduras's Copán Department after three heavy cargo vehicles collided on the highway.

According to one of the firefighters, the scene was heartbreaking and "one of the tragic images we could observe at the scene is a man who was beheaded as the result of the accident".

It is not known for sure how many were injured, as some were moved in an ambulance that was on its way to deal with another road accident.

Victim of the accident in Copán dreamed of what would happen

COPÁN, HONDURAS.- Several people were presenting the fatal road accident that claimed the lives of eight men when they were returning from working in a construction and the dump truck where they were traveling collided with a trailer in San Nicolás , Copán , in western Honduras.

This has been revealed in the multiple accounts of the relatives of the victims, who between tears and impotence narrate that there were some signs prior to the tragedy.

The parents of Olvin Josué and Darlin Dagoberto Chacón Cruz said that their instincts told them that their children should not continue working as masons in the project where they currently work, since less than a month ago they had an accident that worried them.

And although they shared their fears with them, Dagoberto, who was a computer scientist by profession, and Olvin, who was the father of four children, decided to ignore them, since they needed money to survive.

"Previously, in that same man's car (the project manager) they had also had a problem, there by Dulce Nombre and we told him, 'Olvin, stop going there' and he told me: 'No, mommy, I I have to work for my children,'” the mother said with tears in her eyes.

Her husband also elaborated that the problem to which her housemate refers is that "22 days ago they had an accident, they turned around a bank in Dulce Nombre, they hit each other and it was around eight at night and I I went to pick up a neighbor from here in the community and from there I told him: 'Son, don't go, there is food in the house for you and your children', but he always told me: 'Dad, we are using money' and he had already learned masonry and was learning welding”.

That is why when they saw the news on television that an accident had just happened on the route their children were returning home from and when they called them multiple times and got no answer on their cell phones, they realized that the tragedy had happened. knocked on your door. A similar case is reported by the relatives of Santos López , another of the victims of the accident. Her mother, Lidia Vásquez, told Noticieros Hoy Mismo that her son dreamed of a similar accident.

“He told me that he had seen in a dream that a car had turned over and that everyone had 'beheaded'. He had never started talking to me and the day before yesterday he did and he told me that, ”said the mother while she helplessly watched the coffin of her only son.

For her, now everything makes sense, because in the accident where her offspring died, one of the bodies was left without a head due to the strong impact against the ground.

On the other hand, the woman indicated that her husband, who was also injured, like Santos, had a vision of what would happen, but although she asked him not to go to work again, he did not listen to her.

"His father also had a revelation that the car had turned over and I told him: 'Old man, don't go to work there anymore, go to another place to work' and he told me: 'No, because I owe him some tokens (money) to the boss'”, he added.

For Lydia, what her son and her husband saw was a revelation from God, but she regrets not being able to persuade them in time.

“Santos was my spoiled child, my only boy, I stopped eating so he could eat, it is a void that I will never fill. I felt good being with him and today I can't because I don't have him,” the elderly woman cried, as she recalled that her son was planning to emigrate to the United States very soon in search of better opportunities.
