I used to think that these murders were warranted in some way. Like being involved in drugs, gangs and other sorts of crime. But anymore, I'm starting to feel like it's merely jealousy of people who have things. Similarly, it was finding sites like this and looking at comparable real life self defense videos that really drove home that there are evil people in the world who will kill you over mere words (e.g. ego battles and road rage), perceived threats, disrespect (real or imagined), and for material things.

Then you see people on the likes of Twitter saying "Just comply" and I think, there are tons of videos of people complying, and complying but not "quickly enough", who are still murdered in cold blood. Anyone who threatens your life in typical ways has your livelihood at their whim and I don't trust that at all.

While I think most people in the world aren't murderous lowlifes, there are enough to make you realize that sometimes luck is against you (wrong place wrong time despite your best efforts), appreciate the good times you do have, know that if you are attacked you'll only have yourself to depend on, resolve interpersonal conflicts whenever possible.
